Fiona Apple Extends Her Tour

Fiona Apple just announced her tour a couple of months ago, and already she’s extending it so that she can add more dates and give fans more of what they’ve been waiting over six years for!

First extending through the entire summer, Fiona has now added fall dates going all the way to the end of October. Fans who haven’t already gotten the chance to see Fiona live this year can still get a taste of what to expect from her new album The Idler Wheel is Wiser than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More than Ropes Will Ever Do, was released in the United States and United Kingdom earlier this month.

The summer leg of the tour began on June 19 when Fiona performed at the State Theatre in Ithaca, New York; and it will run until July 29 where this leg will wrap at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California. Taking off the month of August, Fiona will then pick up the fall leg on September 9, 2012 at the San Jose Civic Auditorium. That will be the start of a road trip that will take Fiona to just about every major city in the United States including Las Vegas, Austin, Houston, New Orleans, Orlando, Buffalo, New York City and more. The fall leg will wrap on October 21, 2012 at the Stage AE in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Fiona appeared on Jimmy Fallon recently, speaking about her infamous on-stage meltdown at the Roseland Ballroom in New York during the early 2000s; a performance Fallon opened for. During the show at Roseland, Fiona repeatedly apologized for the poor sound quality, broke down into tears, sneered at critics in the crowd, and eventually left the stage after performing for just over half an hour.

“The short answer,” she explained, “is that I’m a human being and that I was reacting to life.”
