Cirque Du Soleil – A Show for Everyone in Vegas

If there’s one Las Vegas performance you don’t want to miss, it’s a Cirque du Soleil show. Whether you choose the magical “O” or the saucy “Zumanity,” you’re going to leave the theater in awe.

If you’re not sure which Cirque Du Soleil show to see, here’s a quick synopsis of the latest productions taking place on The Strip.

O – Bellagio – “O” is a permanent water based show at the Bellagio. The show began in October 1998 and features a 1.5 million gallon pool of water that features amazing synchronized swimming acts, as well as aerial and ground acts.

– MGM Grand – is the first Cirque du Soleil production to feature a full storyline rather than abstract visuals. The production takes place on two giant moving platforms and five other smaller lifts that appear to float. The show opened in October 2004 and has been seen by more than a million people. The story is about conflict and love between imperial twins that must undergo a rite of passage and tells the story of their encounters with Kà.

Zumanity – New York New York – Zumanity was unveiled in September 2003 and is a cabaret-style show. This show features the sensual side of Cirque du Soleil and is designed for mature audiences only, as there are some erotic songs and dances.

MystereTreasure Island – Mystere’s debut performance was on Christmas in 1993. The show is in a circus style with a mix of dance, circus skills, opera, world beat music, and street style comedy. This show was also seen in the movie Knocked Up when the main characters visit Vegas.

The Beatles: Love – Mirage – Love opened in 2006 and combines the artistry of Cirque du Soleil with The Beatles music. The Love Theater features 6,431 speakers and 2,013 seats around a central stage allowing audiences to absorb all of the music and performances.

Zarkana – Aria – Zarkana was originally a travelling show that had great success in New York City, Madrid and Moscow. It is now a permanent show at the Aria Resort and Casino and replaced Viva Elvis. The show is the story of a magician in an abandoned theater who has lost his love as well as his magic and is plunged into a world of surreal creatures.

Criss Angel Believe – Luxor – This show features 40 illusions from Criss Angel in combination with the artistry of Cirque du Soleil.
