Bruno Mars Confirms 2013 Tour Dates

Bruno Mars has been releasing new tour dates just about as fast as he can, and all over the world, too. But just as quickly as he announces them, fans quickly snatch them up and sell out the venue he’s performing in. But that’s no problem for Bruno. If a concert is sold out along the way, he’ll just add another one to give fans even more chances to see him. But there are only so many days left in the year, so don’t hesitate to get your tickets when Bruno comes to your town. And with 45 North American dates, and over 30 in Europe, there’s a good chance he will!

The tour is the Moonshine Jungle World Tour, and the North American leg kicks off on June 22 in Washington, D.C. and will run in over 45 cities until it wraps up in Coliseo de Puerto Rico on September 1. For those dates, the Fits and the Tantrums, as well as Ellie Goulding, will be along as the supporting acts.

From there, Bruno will take a short break for the month of September, but will pick right back up where he left off in the UK on October 2 in Belfast. He travel throughout different cities there until November 25, when he’s wrap up the European leg with a stop in Newcastle, UK.

Think he’s done there? Those may be all the dates that Bruno has booked for this year, but he has no plans on stopping. With the new year will come an Australian leg, which currently only has shows planned throughout Australia and New Zealand for the time being. But with the way Bruno’s been adding on dates, don’t be surprised to find those Aussie venues filling up too.

For a full listing of the dates and venues where Bruno will be performing, you can check out the Bruno Mars tickets page on And then for goodness sakes, don’t wait any longer! Get your tickets today!

Maroon 5 Headlines Honda Civic Tour, and Kelly Clarkson’s Coming Too!

It’s official: the world is going pop! That certainly seemed to be the case first when Bjork was announced as a headliner at Ottawa’s Bluesfest this year, and now another huge event has also gone to the side of pop. Followers of the tour are finding out that Maroon 5 is going to be headlining the Honda Civic Tour this year, with Kelly Clarkson co-headlining. A handful of other acts will provide support along the way, with different bands performing different dates.

The Honda Civic Tour hasn’t been an exclusively rock tour, with Paramore performing in 2010, and Panic! At the Disco headlining before that in 2008. However, with rocker bands like Blink-182, My Chemical Romance, and Fall Out Boy filling the bill for the past several years, it certainly has made that name for itself. That being said, this slight change of pace is exactly what’s making this year’s tour one of the most exciting and highly anticipated yet.

Rozzi Crane and Tony Lucca will be appearing as the supporting acts, as will PJ Morton, who recently stood in as the keyboardist for Maroon 5.

The tour starts on August 1 in St. Louis and from there will travel all around the United States for a total of 31 stops. Some of the biggest cities along the way include Tampa, Austin, Atlanta, Saratoga Springs, and Raleigh. The tour will wrap up on October 5 in Chula Vista, California. For a full listing of dates, as well as who will appear as the opening acts, you can find them on the Maroon 5 tickets page.

Will you be going to the Honda Civic Tour this year? Are you excited about the change in musical genre?

Who Won at the ACMAs?

Sunday night was country music’s biggest night of the year as the Academy of Country Music awards ceremony was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. And while names like Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift have dominated in year’s past, this year it was Miranda Lambert and co-host of the show, Luke Bryan, that were the biggest winners of the night.

Lambert picked up three cowboy-hat-topped trophies, one that included beating out past favorites, Swift and Underwood, when she took home Female Vocalist of the Year. Her song, “Over You,” which she co-wrote with her husband, Blake Shelton, won in two categories — Best Song of the Year, and Best Single Record of the year.

In addition to the awards voted on by the Academy, there are two categories that are always the most popular by viewers, because they’re the ones voted on by the fans. One of those was New Artist of the Year, for which Florida Georgia Line was awarded the trophy; and the biggest award of the night, Entertainer of the Year, which went to Luke Bryan.

Bryan was both choked up and speechless when he accepted the night’s biggest honor, saying that music was the only thing he ever wanted to do, and how grateful he was to be able to do it. Afterwards his co-host, Blake Shelton, joked about how great it was that Bryan could win on his “first and last year as co-host.”

If there were big winners though there were also big, well, not so much winners. Of the night, those honors go to Hunter Hayes, with Taylor Swift running a close second. While Hayes was nominated for six awards and went home with nothing, Swift was nominated for five and also went home empty-handed.

98 Degrees Release First New Music in Ten Years

Just in time before they head out in a couple of months on the “Package” tour with the New Kids on the Block and Boyz II Men, 98 Degrees have released their first single. But, as those fans who have been eagerly awaiting know, there’s more to this story than it just being a new single — it’s the first one heard from the band in a decade!

The song is called “Microphone” and, when it was first heard on radio, the band was quick to let fans in on it. “Hey did you hear our new single #Microphone on @Z100New York this morning? Make those requests NOW to hear more!” the band tweeted on the morning it was heard.

In the song the band sings to a woman, asking her to please “pick up the microphone.” There are tons of great beats and the characteristic falsettos and boy-band “o-o-oohs” throughout. For those that have been missing the great melodies and harmonies this band brings, “Microphone” certainly takes you back ten years, and reminds you why you loved it so much! You can listen to the full track here.

You can hear “Microphone” live by catching 98 Degrees on the “Package” tour, which kicks off on May 31 in Uncasville, Connecticut. 98 Degrees’ newest album, “2.0,” from which “Microphone” is cut, will be released a few weeks before that on May 7. The “Package” tour will wrap up on until July 13, 2013 when it wraps up in Minneapolis.

JT Plays MySpace’s Not-so-Secret SXSW Show

Justin Timberlake celebrated St. Patrick’s Day by closing out the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas. The show was supposed to be top secret, but the news that Justin Timberlake would be there leaked so fast, we wouldn’t be surprised to learn that some fans heard about it before the pop star did.

The South by Southwest is notorious for bringing out huge secret acts sometime during the celebration, and often celebrities play on that by dropping clues and hints to their fans somewhere along the way. But this time, fans were told all but what time to show up.

Nearly as soon as JT was booked to play the festival, the Austin Police Department started preparing for it, bringing on additional security and making sure they’d have the grounds and city properly covered. During those preparations, some members of the security team leaked the news that the additional forces were needed because JT was coming into town to perform. But fans didn’t have to hang around the Austin P.D. to know that one of their favorite superstars was coming to town.

That’s because JT’s crew had littered the venue Coppertank Events Center, where the show was held, with ads for his newest project MySpace. And if that wasn’t enough, just around the corner from those ads, the words “Secret Show” were written on a wall in the star’s characteristic typeface.

Although the show probably could have been kept under tighter wraps, JT pulled the show off beautifully. Mostly playing songs from his album that’s about to be released, “20/20,” he also brought in some favorites from his other solo projects, “Justified,” and “FutureSex/LoveSounds.” What might have surprised fans most was when JT broke out into a cover of INXS’ “Need You Tonight.”

In other JT news, he also recently confirmed a rumor that had been floating around about his album “The 20/20 Experience.” The album that’s about to be released is just the first half, with another album due out afterwards.

Weird Al Goes on Tour before Wrapping Up at Bonnaroo

Weird Al had music fans going crazy last month when announced not only the amazing lineup for the Bonnaroo music festival, but also announced that he’d be performing at some point throughout the weekend. Now, he’ll be busy for some time before June, when the actual festival takes place, as he’s going to be on tour until that time!

With his tour starting in just a month, on April 10 at the Memorial Auditorium in Raleigh, NC, it’s unlikely that he’s going to have another album to promote during this road stint. But with his Grammy-nominated Alpocalypse from 2011 still being so popular among fans, it’s likely that he’s going to be performing a number of tracks from that album. They include parodies of Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Bruno Mars, and T.I.

Along the way Weird Al will be visiting cities such as Knoxville, Jacksonville, Nashville, Kansas City, Calgary, and Tacoma, all in the month of April. With no dates scheduled for May, it’s unknown whether Weird Al will be taking a small break, or if he’s just waiting to add more dates to the schedule. He does pick things back up in June though, visiting Port Chester, Bethlehem, and Sault Ste. Marie before heading to the Bonnaroo festival sometime most likely on June 15 or 16th (he’s in other cities during the other dates of the festival.)

K-Pop Stars MYNAME Finish First Solo Korean Concert

You might know them better by their nickname “Hwanhee’s Boys,” thanks to singer Hwanhee from the group Fly to the Sky. But the pop group MYNAME is definitely carving out their own name, and soon people will forget all about “when they were discovered,” and will just focus on the success this band is enjoying right now. Because just two days ago, MYNAME completed their first solo concert in Korea, and it was the first of many more to come.

It may have been their first concert, but the Korean boy band MYNAME is certainly no stranger to the scene. They actually formed over a year and a half ago, and they’ve gathered quite the following since that time. That was apparent at their very first concert held at Interpark Art Center in Seoul on March 3, when more than 5,000 fans showed up to watch them perform. And what a performance they were treated to!

MYNAME kicked off the show with their huge hit, and latest single, “Just that Little Thing,” and then moved into some high-octane dances with songs such as “Message,” “Astonished,” and “Everlastin Luv.” When it was time to slow things down the boys turned almost melancholy, but were still able to belt out ballads such as “Hello & Goodbye” and “Replay” flawlessly. For a special treat, they also performed a cover of the Backstreet Boys’ “I Want it That Way.”

If you attended MYNAME’s very first concert, or you just want a chance to check them out for the very first time, they’ll be touring around Japan in May, hitting major cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya.

Lineup for Bonnaroo 2013 Announced!

Bonnaroo is quickly becoming one of the annual festivals that’s a must-attend, and this year’s lineup proves once again just why that is. Paul McCartney, Tom Petty, Bjork, and Mumford & Sons are some of the biggest acts stopping by Manchester, Tennessee for the huge festival being held June 13-16 — and those are just the headliners! Because this year, Bonnaroo brings all it has in years past, and even more.

Supporting acts for the headliners will be The Lumineers, Wilco, R. Kelly, Kendrick Lamar, and Wu-Tang Chan; but there will still be a lot of weekend left to fill. That’s why also taking the various stages throughout various times at the festival will also be musical acts The National Collective, Of Monsters and Men, David Byrne & St. Vincent, Passion Pit, Nas, The xx, Cat Popwer, Gaslight Anthem, and Dwight Yoakam. Of course promoters and organizers still have months to get this thing fully in the works, so more are bound to be added, as well.

In past years Bonnaroo has also put a definitive stamp on their festival by also including comedic acts in with the music mix. This year Daniel Tosh from the TV show “Tosh.0” will be there as well as Mike Birbiglia and of course, even more stand-up comedy acts that will be announced soon.

“Top to bottom, this is one of the strongest lineups we ever had,” said Jeff Cuellar, Bonnaroo spokesman , when speaking with Reuters. “Looking at the festival landscape out there, no other American festival has Mumford & Sons, Paul McCartney, and Bjork all under one roof.”

Being known as one of the best musical events in the country, tickets for Bonnaroo always sell out shortly after being open to the public!

Bring Back the 80’s with REO Speedwagon, Styx, and More this Summer

When “The Midnight Rock N’ Roll Express” went on the road last year, music fans thought that it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see some of the biggest bands altogether. Recently however it was announced that all groups involved that first time around — REO Speedwagon, Styx, and Ted Nugent — are all coming back to do it all over again!

Kevin Cronin, singer and guitarist of REO Speedwagon, broke the news in a press release along with Ted Nugent.

“Yo, wake up everybody!” Cronin stated. “Winter is over, the snow is melting, the sun is coming out — it’s time for the second annual REO, Styx, Nugent springtime extravaganza. We had so much fun in 2012 we all decided to fire this ‘Midwest Rock N’ Roll Express’ thing up and do it again. Time to strap on our six strings, pack up the trucks and tour buses, get together with our best rock buddies and go out and have some big fun. See y’all soon.”

The tour begins on April 18 in North Dakota and will travel around to 20 different cities, ending in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. You can find a full listing of tour dates here, and tickets are on sale now!

While none of the bands have released new material in several years, this is the second year they’ve gone on tour, and proven that the classics are always a hit.

Eminem to Release New Album Sometime After Memorial Day

It was at the end of last year when Eminem teased the news of a new album, with a baseball cap that was for sale on his own website. The cap had the different years of Em’s past albums printed on the side, and the last inscription was “2013.” That lit up talk that a new album was coming and as always for Eminem fans, that’s big news. Now it’s been confirmed and long-time president at Shady Records, Paul Rosenberg, says that we can expect it sometime “post-Memorial day.”

Rosenberg recently sat down with to speak about the upcoming album and mostly for fans, to confirm its existence. “We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013. He’s been working on it for some time. It’s safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we’re not exactly sure when.”

And Paul also had other big news — Em’s going out on the road. As could be expected from the artist, who hasn’t headlined a tour in at least a decade, this won’t be a full headliner but rather, a few select dates that will most likely be made up mostly of festival dates.

“We’ve got some dates locked in for him to perform live in Europe in August, so we’re trying to see what else lines up,” Paul told

In the meantime, Paul and Em are busy with their online reality series, “Detroit Rubber.” The series showcases a Detroit sneaker shop, Burn Rubber, and the two owners of it, and both Paul and Em are producing the show through Shady Films. Just three episodes into the series, a quarter of a million viewers have already tuned in, and you can watch it on the Loud YouTube channel.
